Services provided to Bendigo HealthFacility space managementBendigo Health buildings and infrastructure department manages the allocation of real estate within the facilities of the organisation. Departments liaise with buildings and infrastructure when adding new staff who require infrastructure such as office space, computer, telephone, signage or when departments need to relocate. Professional engineering servicesThe engineering department offers a range of professional engineering services and resources with engineers of different disciplines and specialties. The executive director buildings and infrastructure has a strategic role within the organisation and provides technical representation for Bendigo Health at project control groups for construction and planning of new buildings. System support engineeringThe systems support group manages and participates in the development, operation and documentation of the various engineering systems within Bendigo Health. These systems provide engineering data support, access control to Bendigo Health buildings and energy management together with automated control of heating, cooling and ventilation systems. Planned, preventative and maintenance to buildings and plantThe maintenance area employs in-house trades staff including carpenters, fitters, painters, plumbers, electricians and gardeners to provide a comprehensive planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance service across Bendigo Health. Project management servicesProject management services are responsible for all building works undertaken within Bendigo Health including office moves, fit-outs, renovations and the management of space and contractors. Professional advice if offered on all new projects including providing plans, detailed cost estimates, preliminary sketches, timelines and scope of work for projects. Fire and emergency training, mitigation plant complianceThis area ensures all Bendigo Health fire equipment complies with and operates under all Australian Standards and that all staff are adequately trained in emergency procedures. Annual reports and audits are carried out to review, maintain and provide efficient operation of hospital equipment which assists the organisation to determine when replacements or upgrades are required. Advice is provided on the purchase of new equipment to ensure it meets with hospital guidelines. Certification and accreditation is carried out on buildings in line with Department of Human Services and Environmental Protection Agency requirements. Accommodation ManagementAccommodation services manage a range of properties for Bendigo Health staff, patients and their relatives. Access control, car parking and signageThis area is responsible for providing access to Bendigo Health facilities via the use of keys or proximity cards, public and staff car parking and signage at Bendigo Health in line with Bendigo Health policy. Document management and computer aided design (CAD)The document management area maintains all technical documentation associated with the running and administration of the Bendigo Health building and infrastructure department. This involves cataloguing and updating documentation such as technical drawings, Australian Standards and codes, certification and permits, product catalogue data and journals, maintenance and operating manuals, testing and inspection procedures and quality control documentation. In addition to updating existing drawings, this department can produce CAD drawings from sketch plans.
