Education Precinct - La Trobe University
La Trobe University has been funded to construct a clinical teaching school on Bendigo Health’s education precinct site. The clinical school will provide offices, teaching spaces, a lecture theatre and simulation laboratories for nursing and allied health staff. We are pleased to advise that Bendigo Health has been appointed campus liaison officer to La Trobe University for this project. As campus liaison officer, Bendigo Health will provide updates to La Trobe on construction activities and communication between stakeholders. We have built a strong relationship with La Trobe University as appointed builder for previous projects including the school of physiotherapy and the construction of 10 additional dental chairs. Kane Constructions were awarded the contract for the school of rural health. The Faculty of Health Sciences at Bendigo is part of the new La Trobe Rural Health School which also includes, Mildura, Shepparton and Wodonga. This exciting initiative builds on the well developed strengths of the Faculty of Health Sciences in Northern Victoria. When fully operational, over 700 additional students will be educated in a wide variety of health professional programs. The Commonwealth of Australia have provided over 60 million dollars of funding to establish the La Trobe Rural Health School (LRHS). The funding is recognition of La Trobe University’s leading position in health science education and research.
